individualized medical care

Comprehensive gynecology

We offer routine gynecological exams that are anything but routine. Dr. Steven and Joshua Dean find it critical to address you as a whole patient. Whether you are experiencing chronic or acute gynecologic issues, we offer in depth management and care of all your needs.

Menopause and hormone disorders

  • Dr. Steven Dean is an expert in menopausal disorders and has established a “center of excellence” for treating and addressing hormone disorders.
  • Dr. Joshua Dean has learned from Dr. Steven Dean and offers the same compassionate care to each of his patients.
  • We believe every woman can achieve optimal health by addressing hormone deficiencies and balancing them appropriately.
  • Through a combination of bio-identical hormones and nutritional supplements each patient is cared for individually.

Endometriosis

  • Endometriosis, or uterine tissue that is present outside the uterus, often takes a patient multiple years and physicians to reach the correct diagnosis. Through our experience and passion for this chronic condition, we can diagnose this chronic disease.
  • Endometriosis management is not appropriately managed with a “one size fit all” treatment. Rather, through our empathy, eliciting your symptoms and goals we are able to tailor an individual treatment plan for you to overcome this disease in order to live your best life.

Fibroids

Uterine fibroids, or benign muscle tumors that grow from the uterus, often produce symptoms of pelvic pain/pressure, urinary frequency, constipation, and heavy menstrual bleeding. It is important to manage fibroids as many of these symptoms lead to significant impairment in a patient’s life. We are extremely well versed in managing fibroids with medication (non-hormonal or hormonal) and multiple surgical approaches. Finding the right solution for you is our job.

Chronic pelvic pain

Chronic pelvic pain due to gynecologic, urologic, GI or neurologic conditions are disabling for patients. However, these conditions are very manageable. Drs. Dean promises you both patience and attentiveness to help you overcome such a hurdle. Through multi-disciplinary care, multi-modality care and “thinking outside the box,” we promise individualized care to manage this difficult condition.

Thyroid disorders

Thyroid disease is 5-8 times more common in female patients than male patients in the United States. Symptoms can include weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, and depression.
Therefore, when caring for our patients we address primary care concerns that others don’t. We screen all our patients for thyroid related hormone imbalances and offer comprehensive treatment by combining traditional and holistic approaches to achieve optimal care.

Cancer and genetic screening

When you have a close family member who is diagnosed with cancer, it is important that you care not only for that individual but for yourself as well. Genetic Cancer Risk assessments are offered at our office. We can test for the most common genetic causes for ovarian, breast, uterine, and colon cancers. Additionally, we provide genetic counseling to find the optimal management approach for you and your family.

Abnormal uterine bleeding

Abnormal uterine bleeding has significant manifestations such as anemia, pelvic pain, anxiety and social impairment. Despite these common symptoms, there are many underlying causes. Therefore, the diagnosis and management require a physician who can dedicate the time to care for you. With our care and compassion we can help diagnose the cause of your condition and adequately treat this by non-surgical and if necessary, surgical approaches.

Urinary incontinence and pelvic prolapse

Dr. Joshua Dean has extensive training including medical and surgical management of pelvic prolapse and urinary incontinence issues. He received the award for surgical expertise in residency and offers his knowledge and care to help diagnose and treat these chronic and often debilitating medical conditions.

Infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss

We specialize in the evaluation and management of infertility. Roughly 40% of infertility is related to male factors and we focus on both you and your partner to help diagnose and treat this condition. Infertility can be due to structural causes (like endometriosis, fibroids, and tubal disease), hormonal imbalance, or genetic conditions. It is our job to help you navigate this stressful time with compassion and ease to provide you with the best answers and optimal outcome. Recurrent pregnancy loss is emotionally and physically devastating. This complex condition is addressed to the best of our abilities by offering diagnostic testing and comprehensive treatment.
