Should you elect surgical management for gynecologic conditions, our surgeons are extremely passionate and well experienced in up to date interventions. Dr. Steven Dean was one of the first surgeons to be trained and certified in the Davinci Robot at Beaumont/Corewell health. He also was a director of the Minimally invasive gynecology surgery program. Dr. Joshua Dean has acquired in-depth training in gynecologic surgery and surgically distinguished himself from his peers with receiving the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists’ Award for Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery. We utilize both the DaVinci® Robot, traditional laparoscopy, and vaginal surgical approaches to ensure optimal care and excellent recovery.
Some conditions treated include endometriosis via surgical laser treatment, excision and ablation of lesions, with removal of tissue if indicated. Uterine fibroids we offer laparoscopic hysterectomy or myomectomy, as well as lower morbidity uterine sparing procedures such as radiofrequency ablation (Accessa®). When managing patients with ovarian cysts, we emphasize a patient’s goals and individual health to decide the best minimally invasive procedure. Additionally, we offer both hysteroscopy D&C and endometrial ablation to manage abnormal uterine bleeding in those who desire a faster recovery and non-hospital office procedures.
